Contest Period
"Synergy Credit Union’s This is Synergy” Contest (the “Contest”) runs from 12:00:01 am Mountain Time ("MT") on October 1, 2024, to 11:59:59 pm MT on March 31, 2025 (the "Contest Period").
Eligibility
By participating in the Contest, each Member agrees to abide by and be bound by these Official Rules and all decisions of Synergy Credit Union Ltd. (the "Sponsor''), which shall be final and binding, without the right of appeal, in all matters relating to this Contest and the awarding of the prizes, including without limitation eligibility and/or disqualification of Members.
How to Enter
NO PURCHASE IS NECESSARY.
To participate in the Contest, you must be a Synergy Credit Union member in good standing (defined below) and meet the eligibility requirements for the specific category of the draw. Members are only allowed to win one draw during the contest period and winners will be automatically excluded from any future draws in the contest period. If you were not selected as a winner, you still have the opportunity to qualify for the next draw.
- Be a Synergy member in good standing (defined below)
- Share your story to Synergy CU’s This is Synergy Member Story Online Form from 12:00:01 am MT October 1, 2024, to 11:59:59 pm MT on March 31, 2025.
- Have a MemberShare with Synergy Credit Union
- Not be a commercial, business & AG, non-profit, and/or charity member, as these accounts are excluded from this draw.
To claim the prize, the winners must:
- Be a Member in good standing.
To be "in good standing", the applicable Member and/or Member account may not be in default of any terms or conditions of the membership, account, lending or card holder agreements, and accounts in question must not have been cancelled, closed, or otherwise have had any membership privileges suspended. - Have an existing Synergy Credit Union chequing or savings account to deposit the funds.
If you don't have an account, one must be opened, subject to monthly service fees. - Successfully answered the skill testing question.
The following Members and Member accounts are not eligible for any of the contest draws:
b. Any legal entity that is owned wholly or in part by any individual described in paragraph (b) above.
c. Business accounts, estate accounts, Registered Education Savings Plans, Registered Disability Savings Plans, and all trust accounts (including personal trust accounts, family trust, minor trust, business trust accounts, professional trust accounts (e.g., legal, or real estate agent accounts), etc.)
d. Any Member who is a legal resident of the Province of Quebec at the time of Entry or as of the Contest Close Date.

- 12:00:01 am Mountain Time ("MT") on January 1, 2025, to 11:59:59 pm MT on January 31, 2025.
- 12:00:01 am Mountain Time ("MT") on February 1, 2025, to 11:59:59 pm MT on February 28, 2025
- 12:00:01 am Mountain Time ("MT") on March 1, 2025, to 11:59:59 pm MT on March 31, 2025
Draw Dates
The winner of each contest period will be drawn within 5 business days of the contest period end date.
Contest winner(s) will be contacted within 5 business days of the draw date and must correctly answer the skill testing question (4x3) + (100-30) via a follow up email. Failure to answer the skill testing question correctly will result in a redraw. Funds will be deposited into the Member’s designated Synergy Credit Union chequing or savings account upon successful completion of the skill-testing question. If the Member does not have a designated account, a cheque will be issued instead.
If a Synergy representative is unable to reach the Member via Member provided contact information within 20 business days of winning draw, then the Member will forfeit the opportunity to answer the skill testing question and a redraw will occur. If the skill testing question has not been correctly filled out within 25 business days of winning the draw, a redraw will occur.
Authorization and Consent
I agree to the following:
a. I declare that the ‘This is Synergy’ Member Story submitted is (are) an original work of my own creation.
b. I agree to grant Synergy Credit Union use of my ‘This is Synergy’ Member Story submitted without remuneration for, but not limited to Synergy’s website, digital banking application, social media accounts, print materials, advertising, in branch use or posters.
c. By submitting my ‘This is Synergy’ Member Story, I give my consent for my name, home branch, and story to be publicly shared.
d. Grant permission for Synergy Credit Union to publish the winner’s name and/or photograph as it sees fit without remuneration for Synergy’s website, digital banking application, social media accounts, print materials, advertising, in branch use or posters.
e. In giving this consent, I release Synergy Credit Union, their nominees, and designees, including employees and directors, from all liability for any violation of any personal or proprietary right I may have in connection with such sale, reproduction, or use I approve of the foregoing and waive any rights in the premises.
f. I understand that this consent is in addition to, and not in substitution for, any other consent, express or implied, which I have given Synergy Credit Union to collect, use and disclose my personal information. This consent may be withdrawn by contacting Synergy Credit Union using the information above.
g. If I withdraw consent, I acknowledge that existing publications will not be withdrawn from circulation.
Personal information held by Synergy Credit Union will be retained and destroyed in accordance with Synergy Credit Union’s retention of records policies and privacy legislation.

Nurturing Wellness and Community: Jill's Synergy Story
Growing up on a farm teaches you a lot about family, hard work, commitment and the importance of community. No matter how far you wander from home, these values become a part of who you are. This is the experience that Dr. Jill MacKinnon describes, and longing for those values is what ultimately compelled her to return.
Born and raised in Macklin, SK, Jill moved away to study, gaining a Doctor of Chiropractic degree and a passion for nurturing wellness in others. Once she married and became a parent, the pull of small-town living was strong. Jill decided to return to her roots in Macklin, where she could raise her family and open a multidisciplinary wellness centre in the heart of her hometown.
Knowing this would require a financial partner, she turned to Synergy Credit Union “without hesitation.” A legacy member, she’d opened her first account there as a child and funded her post-secondary education with their support. “Every experience I’ve ever had with Synergy has been positive,” says Jill, “so it made perfect sense to partner with them” as she worked to bring her dream to life. Beyond the credit union’s innovative financial tools and guidance, Jill values their shared dedication to community. “Everyone who works at Synergy is local,” resulting in strong, caring relationships “you don’t get with [retail] banks in bigger cities.”
Synergy is thrilled to welcome Jill back to Macklin. One Eleven Wellness is already a hub for well-being in the area, expanding in ways that will benefit the larger community well into the future.
