SYNERGY’S STUDENT PERKS PROMOTION OFFICIAL TERMS & CONDITIONS

Promotion Period

"Synergy’s Student Perks Promotion" (the “Promotion”) runs from 12:00:01 am Mountain Time ("MT") on September 1, 2024, to 11:59:59 pm MT on October 31, 2024 (the "Promotion Period").

Eligibility

By participating in the Promotion, each person agrees to abide and be bound by these Terms & Conditions and all decisions of Synergy Credit Union Ltd. (the "Sponsor''), which shall be final and binding, without the right of appeal, in all matters relating to this Promotion, including without limitation eligibility and/or disqualification of Members.

How to Enter

Receive $105, which includes $100 cash in your account and a $5 MemberShare rebate to become a member-owner with Synergy Credit Union. To be eligible for this Promotion, you must:

1. Be considered a full-time student in a post-secondary educational institution (defined below);

2. Not be a current Synergy member; and

3. Open at least 1 (one) SmartPack account between September 1^st to October 31^st, 2024, in which the funds will be deposited.

One free SmartPack account*. The full-time student will receive 12 months of their Monthly Account Plan for free. To be eligible for the free account, you:

1. Must be considered a full-time student in a post-secondary educational institution (defined below)

2. Are eligible to continue receiving the rebate for each year that you attend full-time educational programs.

3. Will also receive an additional 12 months free upon providing proof of graduation.

*Other account fees may apply (e.g. overdraft fees, paper statements, etc.)

To be considered a full-time student, the following criteria must be met:

A qualifying education program is defined in the Income Tax Act as a program that lasts at least 3 consecutive weeks and requires a minimum of 10 hours of instruction or work in the program each week (not including study time). Instruction or work includes lectures, practical training and laboratory work.

The program can be offered via online delivery and does not have to be offered by a Canadian institution, though it does need to be recognized in its respective industry in Canada.

Proof of enrollment must be provided and can be done so in one of the following ways:

1. A completed Proof of Enrolment form, or;

2. A copy of your current class schedule, or;

3. A copy of your tuition receipt, or;

4. A letter of acceptance from post-secondary institution

This can be provided to Synergy Credit Union in any of the following ways:

• Attach the proof of enrollment to an email (readable photo accepted) and send it to Synergy’s email: webmail@synergycu.ca

• Hand it in at your local branch

To open an account online, you must have a temporary or permanent Saskatchewan or Alberta address.

Current Members and their Member accounts are not eligible for the promotion.

Payout Dates

Funds will be deposited into the account within 1 week of obtaining proof of enrolment.

Consent 

Personal information held by Synergy Credit Union will be retained and destroyed in accordance with Synergy Credit Union’s retention of records policies and privacy legislation.
